new haven 283tb 410 rwapeter magazine spring broke

hello  i  just  picked  up  a  used new haven 283 tb  made  by  o. f. mossberg,  i  paid 20.00 for  it  and  everything  works  fires  and  all  but  is  a  single  shot  as  when  i  took  the  gun apart  to  clean  it  i noticed  that  the spring steel spring  that  holds  the catridge carrier?  was  brok  so  i  tried  to  bend  it  in  to  fit  but  snapped  it  off.  what  do  i  need  to  do  now  and  where  is  a  source  for  these springs?  i  really  would  like  to  make  it  more  than  a  single  shot  for  my daughter  i  can  send  a  picture  if   i  need  to  the  gun  for  20.00  is  a  good  deal  so  if  i  had  to  spend  a  few dollars  on  it it  is still  cheaper  than a  NEF singleshot  and  even  lighter  thanks in advance

I suspect you have a variation of the Mossberg M183D, a bolt action magazine fed shotgun.  GunPartsCorp has parts for these listed in their catalog.  They also have an ECommerce site at the link below.  These are fairly reliable old shotguns other than the few that have a broken spring or a cracked stock.

thanks  sir  i  believe it  is a  variation of  that  i  went  to  there sight  and  found  a  mainspring  a  magazine  assembley  and  magazine spring  assembly  we  wne t and  shot  it  and  shoots   really  good  eject  them  and  shoots  fairly  tight  it  is  for  my  8  year  old  she  enjoyed  shooting  bottles  of  water  and  watching them explode  i  believe it  has a 2 round magazine  thanks  for  your  advice
