 well I shot my mortar today 2 and 5/16 inch bore 12inches long. And I want to thank everyone who helped with all the info. 1st I just shot it for the sound for the 4th of July we had at the house, but then went and shot concrete projectile in it, and wow still playing with the load, but that baby will zing out there. So once again thanks for the help, you guys are great.

I just ordered 3 6pounder balls from Paulsen Bros. When they get here I am taking my Mortar tube to a machine shop and have it bored out to fit the 3 inch balls.

No more aluminum cans and pouring concrete for me.

DD - Are you going to put the VHF transmitters in them so you can FIND them again?

I've shot a few golf-balls with a Napoleon and not yet found the first one.

Cat.... cut back on the powder to the point where you can see the golfballs in flight.  Also, a 1 pound "cannon ball" fishing weight is right at 1.700".  Found the mold for it and works great in my mortar.

Could hear the report out here on the West Coast..... only need enough powder to hear it east of Kansas.
