.223 AI at Midway

Knid of a two part question here.  First, Midway is running a special this month on Contender 14" .223 AI barrels - are these special runs made by TC for large companies like Midway?  Secondly, anyone out there use the .223 AI and what can you tell me about it's advantages and drawbacks?  Appreciate any info.

Yeah, it does look like a good deal.  I guess since you can shoot regular .223 thru the barrel it's kind of a win/win situation isn't it.

Anyone have the specs on this AI or a place I can go and research it?  Someone said you can shoot the .223 Rem in the AI.  Do you have to get different brass, fire form of what?  How about different dies?

I am interested in getting the .223 Rem barrel, should I rethink and go with the AI instead?

Thanks guys.

I bought one of these barrels along with my 30-30AI when Midway first got them 2-3 years ago. I've followed  KYODE and other's lead and had great success and fun with the 30-30AI but, unfortunately I've not yet found the time to even try the .233....tooo many barrels....not enough time.  I know, my priorities are all outta whack here lately.  The round will have to be very close to a .22TCU (had there been one), and we don't have much bad to say about the TCU's.  I'll have to get on the stick and report back.
LL, Yes you use standard .223 brass and fireform to AI and then use .223AI dies to load.  Midway also has the dies. Redding($65.00 ,I think)  GOOD SHOOTIN',  Walt
