My son liked my Mathews legacy so much I decided to get him a Mathews. I got a great deal from a friend for a Mathews Q2LX and my son loves it. I have shot almost every bow or close to every one and I keep going back to my Mathews. I will never change. I think my son is hooked as well.

I've been shooting for 25 years and have owned a lot of the ones mentioned. The last 3 years saw me with a long bow in hand. I decided to get back into the speed scene this year. There was no question in my mind what I wanted. Matthews all the way. Theres a lot of good bows out there ,but in MHO M. is the best. Look at all the technology they've come out with and all the wins they have, and all that have copied them. Years ago, PSE was a major player, nice bows. Then matthews came out.
Above all that, once you shoot one,you see and feel the difference.
I shot a outback,.lx and a classic (also a hoyt-@ the shop owners request) two weeks ago and ended up buying a outback I knew as soon as I shoyt it that I had never shot anything like this bow before. This bow is unbelivable and worth the extra $. It feels so good drawing,at full draw and no shock or vibration. Very low noise and it's a tackdriver. I robinhooded a arrow the night I bought it at the shop @ 20 yards. This bow is sweet and I love it

Glad you enjoy your bow. Nothing like a Matthews.

Three Mathews bows at our house. Son and daughter shoot the FX and I have a vintage Ultramax for hunting.  I would love to get one of the new 2004 Mathews, but after harvesting 26 deer, I can't make an effective argument that I need a better bow. "She who must be obeyed" won't buy into that idea.    I remember how awesome it was to hunt that first season with Mathews. It's still a great bow.

The bow shop I go to tried to get me to buy the new outback bow also. I have had such good success with my Mathews legacy, I just can't part with it.  8)

I shoot a Legacy and can't imagine anything I could change about it. It's about as good as a bow gets in my opinion. There would have to be some kind of incredible bow produced to get my attention away from the Legacy.

Folks can say what they like about Mathews, I'm happy and feel you get what you pay for. Lifetime Warranty without a hassle on a Bow which will also very likely never need any warranty work. I have other things to focus my attention on when hunting now. I know the bow is the best I can get.

I was out today shooting my Mathews Legacy. I did some shooting at 20, 30 and 40 yards. I busted 3 nocks today, the arrows were in such a tight group I had to pull the pin on my Glen dale buck to remove the arrows. The accuracy I get with this bow is great. I was hopping for a robinhood.

What kind of speed are you guys getting out of your Mathews, with hunting weight arrows?

I have a friend that shoots a Jennings (left hand), and recently bought a Legacy.  His Jennings shoots about 275 fps with a hunting weight arrow, and he wanted more speed so he bought the Mathews.

When he got it, we chrono'd it, and it is actually about 25 fps SLOWER than his old Jennings.  Is this a fluke, or are most of you getting closer to 300 fps with hunting weight arrows with your Mathews bows?

I'm looking at Bowtech bows, and Archery Research bows right now.
You haven't hunted......Until you've hunted the hunters

I guess it would depend on the poundage he has his bow set at. I have mine set at 70# and shoot 28 inch 2116 arrows with 125 gr. Muzzys. I am at 293 fps. All my arrows have been pass through on all my deer taken. :)

Mine is set to 65lbs and I use carbon arrows which weigh 325 grains and shoot a 125 grain field point. I'm at 255fps the my certified tested chronograph. That is about 55fpe and it's very flat shooting. I suppose I could go to 70 pounds as I have a crank and a half left on each limb. Actually when I turned the limbs all the way up and checked the weight it was 74 pounds not the listed 70 pounds.  It's so nice to shoot at 65 and has tons of power along with the easy smooth draw, and plenty flat shooting. I'm not sure I would give that "feel" up for another 20-30 fps? I'll have to fool with it a bit more before I decide. I've only had it about 6 weeks.

I own two Mathews. One is a Rival Pro and the other is a Conquest III that I purchased 4 months ago. I've shot and owned Browning, Martin, Bear, Oregon and York. The Mathews is the best I've owned so far.

Are they offering $400.00 for it with everything on it or just the plain bow? How well does your Legacy shoot? If you are shooting good, I would not trade up to a Outback. My proshop tried to get me to trade up out of my Legacy and I told them, when I wear it out I will trade it. I don't think that will happen any time soon.  Also you might want to consider to wait a year, and they will have the price dropped down on the Outback. Or you can outright sell you Legacy and possibly get more for it, then get the Outback. I guess I really did not help at all.  :D
