Was looking one over in the store the other day----seems it would be a good home defense/truck gun-----anlmost bought it when I realized I already have 2 other guns on lay-a-way---put the brakes on that idea for awhile.

In the 30/30; Marlins® will out shoot Winchesters® because of the faster twist & MicroGroove® rifling. The faster twist allows better stabilization of heavier bullets, 180's, 190's, etc.......

Dave:

I haven't much success with ANY 150gr bullets IN MY MARLIN. Best I could do was 4-5" groups. With 170gr bullets I shoot groups under an inch @ 100yds. I have two friends shooting 30/30 Marlins also. One does well with 150's & the other doesn't. I hope they will work for you. Let us know how it goes.
