the easiest way, is to put a slice between the tail and but hole(horazontally) then step on tail with your heal up close to body, then pull up on the back legs, this turns the skin inside out, then cut hands and feet off. gut, off with head, hair stayes off meat. get glands from under front arms, on males i think, fatty bubbles in arm pit.

I cut off feet head and tail then slice a osswise under the skin on the back.Put your fingers in the slits and pull against each other.Takes more time to tell it than to do it .pan.

Good info guys!

Maybe if I had known how to properly skin a squirrel, I wouldn't have given them all away.  Still...there's something about these little guys that doesn't look appetizing to me. :?

Hmmm...maybe if they had longer ears and a smaller white tail.  Now that would be eatin'!   :)

Have you tried it? That just looks way too simple. I can't wait to try it. If it's that simple, look out!!! It reminds me of cleaning birds. (Grouse etc.) I never thought of trying it with squirrels. I hate to think of all the hours I've spent skinning those tree rats. I contend they are the finest wild game around. :D

yup, just as easy as it looks. Best to do it when they're freshly shot as the skin comes off easier.

If you ever had squirel gravy and homemade biscuits for breakfast you would have no trouble skinning the little devils.  Walt
