Mosin Scope Mount
« on: January 14, 2003, 10:07:48 AM »
I found a site that has a mosin scope mount similar to what i want but I also sent weaveroptics.com an email about making a scope mount for the mosins that is similar to the #1-side mount of theirs only higher and it can use  the different height rings so larger scope diameter can be used. They haven't gotten back to me yet about this subject. I'm not crazy about the scout mount or the other mount that comes with a bent bolt handle. I would like an orginal mount to look like a "mosin sniper" I'm sure they can make it for us. I also told them that mosins are flooding the market right now and they make great hunting rifles/truck guns too. But there is no really "great scope mount that looks good" ??? I think its long over due?? I'm all for notching out the side of the stock(neatly) just like the orginal mount has for a good solid mount.                   BigBill

If I can't buy one soon I will make them myself I'm tried of having stuff I don't really want offered to us I want something that looks good?"orginal"
What are your thoughts?

Seen the sniper scope's and mounts sell on EBay several times.  Mounts go for arouind $80.00 and seen one of the scopes sell for $200.00
Bought an original scope and mount from Empire Arms this last summer, paid $300.00 for it, it was in mint condition.  Mounted it on a 91/30 that I bought several years ago, that has a new Tiki barrel installed on it.  It's a tack driver.

Red Dot Scope

I have a model 39 that I had a red dot scope mounted on.  Used only one mount ring, right on the flat of the hex receiver.  The scope is small enough that it doesnt move at all, even with the one mounting ring.  Have shoot it for about ten years now, has one of the early red dot scopes mounted on it.
