Guys, I love .41"s. Found a Ruger Bisley(they call it a Vaquero but it doesn't look loke one to me) SS 5.5 inch barrel in excellant condition. What do you think this should go for? Does it have any collector value. When was it made? I want to shoot the h#$! out of it. Thanks for any help.

I sold a blued Bisley in 41 Mag about 3 years ago for $375.  I had a lot of interested buyers at that price.

Moe,
I would say any where from $ 325.00 to $ 375 some where in that range.
It depends alot on the area you are in. At the gun shows in my area they run about $ 350 as a general rule. They seem to move pretty good down here. Good luck..........Joe................

as far as i know they never made a bis vaquero in .41 what you probably are looking at is one of the accusport .41 stainless bisley .41s with adjustable sights. if so its worth $400. Its a limited run gun and would be an excellent gun if you like .41s i have one in .44 and .45 and they are great guns.

Lloyd, what do you mean Accusport? Was that a special run for a distributor? They have a .45 version also but asking less for that one. Seems like the .41's go for a little more. Also they have a NIB Super Blackhawk Hunter Bisley in .41. Can't decide what I want. Really like the 5.5 incher. Thanks for the response.

ya they were a special run made so far in .45 .44 and .41 they supposidly made less then 1000 of each. There real nice guns. My .44 is probably the most consistantly accurate out of the box sixgun ive ever owned.

yup, sounds like one of the Acusport Bisleys as Ruger never made a Vaquero in .41.  Ruger - and other manufacturers - get contracted by distributors to produce non-cataloged models exclusively for them.  Acusport contracted Ruger to produce these stainless 5 1/2" Bisleys in .41, .44 and .45 calibers.  I believe around 1000 of the first two were produced and I believe around 1200 or so of them were made in .45 caliber (got two of these myself)  I really like mine.  The balance and feel is just about perfect.  I'd like to have gotten the other two calibers but got a 45 Hunter instead.  I'll find them eventually.
The 41 Bisley Hunter is a distributor run for Davidson's I believe.  There was also a run of standard configuration 41 Hunters.  Unsure of production numbrs on these.  If you don't mind the longer bbl it would allow easy optics mounting if that is at all a possibility now or later on.  I like the overall feel and balance of the shorter 5 1/2" bbl myself.  Also easier to carry in the woods.
I paid $420 for each of my 45 Acusport Bisleys brand new.  The 45's can still be had for that price as another batch was released a short time ago.  I'd think anything in the $375 or lower range would be fair if box/paperwork is there.
If you're not totally committed on the .41 magnum cartridge, why not consider the .45lc model?  There are decent factory ammo avail. for the .41 but it seems to take reloding to really make it shine.  Same goes for the .45lc but there is a bit more selection in both factory loads and reloading components for it.   The .41 is a fun cartridge though and while not as common as the others, it is a fun conversation cartridge to the unknowing.  I'd get it!
Either way, good gun.   Oh, either will take the abuse of you shooting the "h#$! out of it".

If you pass on it and it is indeed one of the AcuSport Bisleys, I'd appreciate any info to contact the seller.

BH, it is one of the Acusport models and it is used. I don't think I can get it for less than $430 plus shipping plus transfer. The money diff is really not that important to me. I went around town today and found a new .45 so I could hold it and fondle it. They also had a Hunter model so I could compare the two. The Hunter is nice but the Bisley handles perfectly.
Still working on getting it. If I can't get the .41 I may but the .45 I found today. Its $459. The Hunter was $539. I'll keep you posted.

$430 seems kinda high.  They could've been had brand new for a bit less than that when they were brand new.  I guess supply/demand but...
Was the .45 you checked out one of the Bisleys also?  Go to GunBroker or AuctionArms and you should still be able to find one of them for $419 from ray's bait & tackle.  (excellant to deal with)  S/H is around $17 from him and then your transfer fee. (out of state so no tax) :)  Same as the .41 your looked at but in .45lc.  May be worth the look.

Found one of his auctions http://www.gunbroker.com/auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=20919406

I've bought a few of these special eds. from him.  Great to deal with.

Well I did it. I got the .41. Won't have it for a few days but its a done deal. Gunbroker is where I found this one. I did see the 45 there also, just like the one I saw and fondled today. Had a local shop call Acusport today to see if they had any more. They said the .41's went right away, gone, zippo, swoosh. Guys, now I need some .41 loads. Probably start a new thread. Thanks for the help.

Good for you!  Enjoy!  As for .41 loads, inquire over at Ruger Forum.com about them.  There's a few .41 shooters there with some decent loads.
