Winchester Model 12 Questions

I just acquired two model 12's one marked 1912 the other Model 12, both are 12 guage, full choke, and appear to be in fairly good condition.  I am not a shotgun person and have know idea if these are any good.  Both actions seem quite crisp and smooth.  Can you shoot them with todays shotgun shells?

Yes. The Winchester Model 12 is a well thought of pumpgun. Many consider it the best pump ever made. I'm not one of them as I prefer the Remington 870 but have owned a few Model 12s over the years.

They are quite sought after by both shooters and collectors and do sell for some pretty good money.

The Model 12 is and was a great shotgun.  One item you should be aware of.  I do not believe there is a trigger disconnect after you fire it.  With the Rem. 870 the trigger is disconnected when you fire it.  It reconnects(c when you release the trigger.  But you must release the trigger before it will fire.  Meaning that if you hold the trigger down on the Model 12 and pump a round into it the weapon will fire.

Graybeard may have some experience with this.
