zeiss conquest 3x9x40 or 3.5x10x44mm

My question? Is it worth the extra 100 bucks to get the 3.5x10 0ver the 3x9x40mm conquest. I will be mounting it  on top of a 7mm-08 tikka t3 and using this rifle for whitetails and some target shooting.

I have the 3.5 x 10 x 42 and really like it.  My buddy has the 3 x 9 x 40 and it is his favorite scope.  For hunting the 3x9 is all you need.  But I like mine so I can sight in at 10x.  But for hunting I never go over 7x anyway.  I am thinking of getting another conquest and it will be the 3x9.

I don't think so.  That's the reason why, when I bought my Conquest, I bought the 3x-9x-40mm.  

Just yesterday I too bought a Tikka in 7mm-08 SS, but not the T3, but the original Whitetail Hunter new in Box - which is rare these days.  However, I'm gonna put a Nikon Monarch 3x-9x-40mm on that rife.  I have this same scope on a Tikka WH SS in .243 and it's a perfect match - lightweight, relatively short, super optics and quality, and a steal of a price in the mid $200s from Jon at the Optic Zone. (where I buy most of my scopes).

zachary thanks for your help i am going to buy either the nikon or the zeiss at the opticzone. if the nikon has the same clarity and brightness as the zeiss than i will get the nikon and save even more money. congratulations on your purchase of that tikka whitetail hunter 7mm08 because if i saw it on 1 of the auctions before i bought  my t3 then it would of been mine. i know a dealer that has a tikka whitetail hunter in 280 cailber synth/blue for 420.00 temp to buy it.

There aren't too many Tikka WH in .280 out there. :eek:   You better buy it before I see it. :)

As for the Nikon and the Zeiss Conquest, both have excellent optics, but I think that the Conquest is a bit better and perhaps worth the extra money.
