100 percent case capacity loads

i was recomended to use 100 percent case capacity loads for my drilling using pure lead paper patched bullets..  so ive come here to ask about poweders (in 2fg configuration) im not familiar with.. these will be going into a 1926 highly engraved drilling so powders that carrode or rust easily with moisture or other reasons  are out of the question.. i was getting  inconsistent accuracy with 4198 and unique,   so my inquirey has  brought me to your site.. there is clear shot, ive tried it but seems a little hot ... pyrodex  rs, wich im about to try, 777, and what others?  that is--those that  are 100 percent case capacity with same volume as black powder 2fg , and non corosive..  each powder that you comment on i need to know if it is ok, or recomemnded, or a no no to compact the powder.. thanks dave..

All of the powders you mentioned are corrosive.  They are said to be less corrosive than black powder but corrosive is corrosive in my book.  They are also somewhat hotter than black powder and will reach the same pressure at a lower volume.  Loading compressed loads with pyrodex or 777 will generate much higher pressures than a full case of 2f.  I do not know enough about clear shot to comment about its volumetric equilivance to black powder.  You might do better posting your question on the paper patched bullet forum or black powder cartridge rifle forum (but some of those folks don't want to see mention of anything but black powder).

Do not use 100% case loads in your rifle! The Hogdon Data Manual No.26 does list some case loads for blackpowder cartridges using Pyrodex as a powder. The old 44-40 cartride is listed with 30 grains volume measure of Pyrodex. I don't know what you loading for but I would start with a low charge and work up till you have about .015" head expansion and no further.
