deisel airguns

Anybody here remember the deisel airguns imported in the '60's from Germany? They were actually designed to ignite a liquid fuel mixture. Other than that, they were airguns. Anyone know how or how well they worked? Or what fuel they used?

I think the fuel used was ether (sp) and the gun called the Barakuda!
