I noticed that with the CZ Safari the hog back style stock is more designed to open sight shooting
whereas the straight American stock lends itself to using a scope.
Dresden,
agreed. I put a scope on my 416 with the hogback stock just to check accuracy of my handloads and it isn't a very comfortable arrangement. Shooting the open sights with this stock is very easy and the stock will be coming off as soon as I finish my load development.
I have used 550 in 375 H&H headed my way and it has the laminated "American" style stock. I will transfer the scope & rings from the rigby to 375 and if the scope works with that setup maybe I will just leave it be.
