Accurate Arms/Scott 4100 powder
« on: July 28, 2004, 04:21:18 AM »
I stumbled into a large amount of AA 4100 powder for an extermely good price (Less thank $7 per pound with shipping/hazmat).  I know this powder is very well suited for 357 mag and 44 mag, but has anyone ever used it in rounds like the 22 hornet, 256 win mag, 221 fireball, 223, 357 max, 357 herrett, 357/44 Bain and davis....Anyone got any ideas?

thanks and regards,
 graycg

Its burn rate (not loads) puts it very near Lil Gun.  Because of increased interest in 4100 of late, I'd contact AA.  Understand they have been working on some handgun data for it.  Believe it could be viable in everything you mention except possibly the 221 and 223.  A little fast for those two.

Thanks Gents,
I guess I'll get to work on it.  I did contact Accurate, but they had very little info other than....use AA#9 data to start with and work up as indicated.

thanks and regards,

Graycq,
Where did you happen to find that powder?  I can't seem to locate it anywhere from the dealers that advertise on the Internet.  Thanks...BCB

I got the powder from Midsouth Shooters supply on closeout, don't know if they have any more or not, you can check it out.
