Sloppy Lever
« on: July 17, 2004, 03:51:31 PM »
I was just looking at the Winchester 9410 packer and thought it might be a nice rabbit gun. I noticed the lever seemed a bit sloppy and loose, with bit of side to side and up and down play in it when the action is closed. Is this normal? I have never done much with lever guns, but am considering a big bore 45/70. Can I expect to see the same sloppy lever on the rifles?

Can't say if it's normal for the 9410, but it's normal for all the rest of the '94 series rifles. Let's the dirt and un burnt powder fall out the bottom.

SLoppy win 94 levers can be worked on by a good smith and fixed up very nice. Mostly all polishing, but it does help quite a bit.
