I went to the range yesterday with the 99F in .243. I consistantly had problems with the last round feeding into the chamber. It appeard that the shell stayed down in the roatary mag to far for the Bolt(?) to pick it up and push it into the chamber. All other rounds worked great.
BTW I was getting~3-4" 3 shot groups at 150 yards, good enough for me!!!!

Tony,
Do you know if the rotary magazine has ever been removed for cleaning or service? I've heard of problems with the magazine not being properly tensioned when reassembled.

I don't know but I doubt it was. It has been sitting Idle in a gun case for ~20 years. The prev owner before that was not a real gun guy.

Sounds like the mag spring is either weak (I understand it's easy to adjust) or, as in my case, there was a bit of debris under the rotor, that dragged on it just enough that the spring didn't overcome it for the last round.

I had to fix mine from a mid 50's vintage .250. Mostly gunk in the spool from accumulated oil, dust and whatever. The spool comes out fairly easily by removing the forend and the small screw on the side of the action near the front of the receiver. It slid out as a unit and from there I degreased it until it move easy then lubricated and reinstalled it. No need to disassemble it further unless the cleaning doesn't work. I was able to put more tension on the spring as the front of the spool has 2 groves 180 degrees apart. Now I make sure I clean the gun upside down so the crud doesn't fall into the action and gum up the works. Hope this helps.

I disassembled the gun as described, had to up the tension a bit and all seemed to be good. A word to first timers, mark that front dish piece of the mag before you remove the front bolt, or you will not know where your mag tension was.

i had the same proplem,in 243.imade it work but i had 6t5o take away on the left side.idid let s0om eone else worry about it .i will tell tellk ypu what you need to do.
