FG and the SPEER 210gr. GDHP.

Tried the new Gold Dot HP's in the 41mag today.
This bullet looks promising. Shot only at the 50yd. range with iron sights but some very good groups. Five shots went into under 2 inches. Need to go to the 100yd  range tomorrow.
Tried some XTP's but had a little trouble feeding and the groups were not as good.
Still... the 170gr. Sierras seem be the best in this rifle. But I'll keep tweaking with the Speers. I really like the looks of this bullet.

I'm wondering if you are continuing to work with this gun and how do you like it?   I see some on the gun auctions and I'm terribly tempted since I have 3 revolvers in that cal.

Dand;

Yes, I'm still working on loads for this gun. But as I said that before I'm pretty well settled in on the Sierra 170gr. JHC ahead of H-110. This FG is one great gun! Before I bought this rifle I had no intrest in a lever action, since about 20 yrs. ago my father shot a hole in the car trunk with a junky Winchester. Just got back from a gun show today and I find myself looking at Marlins now. Got an itch for a 44mag. in a 1894.
But my local gun shop got just this one in and I decided to buy it since I did not buy one back in the mid 80's.  :(
If I can sell my H&R in 44mag single shot I'll buy a Marlin in that caliber.
These are great rifles, and have been EXTREMELY pleased with mine.
Dan...Let us know if you get one. I don't think you will dissapointed.
Good Shooting.
