Bushnell Banners???
« on: July 31, 2004, 04:45:31 AM »
Hello all,
I saw that Bushnell makes the Banner line with a 6-18-50 for about $130.  Anyone have any experience with these.  I'm looking to put it on a Savage 12 223 heavy barrel for varmint shooting..
Thanks,
~DoubleA~

Several fellas at RFC have posted good  reports on the bushy 6-18x50 and 6-24x40 scopes, wouldn't mind gettin one myself if I find the need sometime. Both are similar in price.

Yes. I've run that very scope thru its paces for a review and found it to be an excellent buy for the money. The Bushnell Banner line is in my opinion the best bang for the buck in that price range out there. I know most folks only recommend the higer priced lines like the Elites and some times the Trophy line but really I've tested the entire Bushnell product line and don't feel bad about using any of them.

In fact for the three new rifles I'm working with right now I order an Elite 3200, a Legend and a Sportsman scope from Bushnell to mount on them. I could just as easily have gotten all Elites I'm sure but I have confidence in these lines and wanted to try the particular models I ask for.

The only one of them with recoil is a Rem. 700 LSS Mtn. Rifle in .260 Rem. which doesn't have that much. The other two are rimfires. But even if all had been centerfires these scopes would have done fine.

Thanks for the info, Especially the bossman Greybeard.  I trust and respect your opinion.  I have few different kinds of scopes, and just can't get the wife to budge on this rifle/scope combo.  If it hadn't been the last Savage priced at 280 out the door, she wouldn't have let me get it........

I have two of the Banner 6 X 18-50 scopes on varmint rifles and they have worked perfectly for 5 years now. I would rate them a best buy for the money. I have had a Banner 1 X 4-20 on a 12ga slug gun for 11 years and it's still working as well as when it was new.
