Burris 2-7 LER with adjustable front optic

I came across a TC frame with a nickel Burris 2-7x scope which appears to have adjustable parallax on the front optic.  The front optic has what I believe are yardage marker designations from 25, 50, 100, 200, etc to infinity.  The back optic has the standard 2-7 power adjustment.  It's an LER scope and bigger than the other Burris 2x7 that I have.

I was not aware that Burris made a handgun scope like that and can't find any information on it at Burris' website.  Do any of you have any experience with this scope and what it's value may be?

The scope you are talking about is for a Handgun, of course.  However, I have seen them used on Military rifles that have to mount the scope up in front of the action.

I have 3 of the scopes you describe.  If you intend to use a scope, I would keep it.  I have two that I have owned for over 15 years and they have performed will and I still use them.  I recently acquired one like yours that is nickle colored for $125.  I would pay that for another one.  I shoot a bunch of different TC barrels and I don't have scopes on all of them.

I have a total of 8 Burris Handgun scopes and one Leupold.  I prefer target knobs on my scopes.  Burris will install them for $40 each knob.

The yardage marks you mention on the front are settings to adjust the Parallex for those distances.

that would be an adjustable objective model. they list both models (with/without) at some mail order houses, such as mid south shooter supply. i have a non adjustable 2x7 model on my 30-30AI.
the 3x12 burris all have an AO.

I found a deal on Referebed Burrius scopes so I ordered 2. A 1 x 4x and a 3 x 9X, both handgun scopes. I mounted the 3 x 9 on a .357 max. Bullberry barrel on an Encore frame. I set it on 9x and zeroed it, was not at all happy with my groups, 3 to 4 ins. at 80 yrds. Since it was acouple days befor deer season I fugired I would have to live with it, but I thought that the barrel should do alot better than that. I set the scope on 3X to check it and fired a group well under 1 in., the big problem was that it was over 6 in. form the group fired on 9X. I hhunted with the scope that deer season and sold it to a guy that was willing to send it back to Burrius. I never mounted the 1 x 4X scope and probibly never will. I replaced the first Burrius with a Leupold, I`ve had one of them since the 1960`s and now have over 20 of them and have never had the first problem with any of them. I`m back to all Leupolds.
   As for the adj. obj. that lets you set the distance at which your scopes parallex is set for.

Rather than condemn all Burris products, perhaps the above experience is a reminder that you get what you pay for.  There is a risk in buying refurbished optics, and it seems the poster got bit.  I prefer Leupold scopes on my more heavily-recoiling barrels not because I've had problems with Burris but because I know I will not with Leupold. The Burris scopes I own have been fine and trouble free, and not all were purchased new.  I really like their current non-AO 2x-7x; small, robust and with good optics.

Do you need to adjust the AO everytime your distance changes?  This would be ok for targets, but not so good for hunting.
