Let's see.

They have a hog hunting concession.  Okay good deal.

They killed it so nobody else would get it. I can buy that.

He's to big to mount. Huh? If you have a hog hunting concession wouldn't you want everyone to know you have the biggest hogs anywhere? Load that sucker in a pick up and head to town and show it to all the good ole boys down at the hardware srore

Buried him because big hogs are no good to eat. I experience that, but it did make good hamburger for the chili cook off.

When I went to Africa a couple of years ago the PH always took my picture with me sitting behind the animal. Sometimes way behind the animal.  Made the horns look way bigger than they were.  Kind like standing in a hole behind a hog hanging from a backhoe.

Never the less that is a huge hog!

sounded kinda hokie to me also-but it is big never the less(not as much as the one killed in texas a while back-1,089#-in my opinion). Biggest one that I've ever shot reached all across my tailgate-nose to butt. A boar, but VERY tasty. Hard to believe anyone would bury that much good meat.  Pat

Just to let you know. Anyone clicking on that link will have a spyware program called Double Click added to your computer unless you are running Spybot. Click at your own risk. Just be aware it adds the spyware to your computer. Me I run Spybot and keep it up to date and have my computer immunized.

Thanks for the info Graybeard. A little to late for me though. I keep thinking I will download spybot but I haven't yet. I guess I will now.

Also I used the measuring tool in Adobe Photoshop and did some rough calculations. Assuming the man is 6 feet tall then I came up with just under 9 feet from nose to tail for the hog and just over 10 1/2 feet from nose to hind foot. Since the man is slightly behind the hog that may still be giving the hog a little extra. It's a huge hog no dought but I don't think it will go close to 12 feet like they claim.

I have hunted for a lot of years now, and although I am not a trophy hunter, I am proud of whatever I take in the hunting field. To shoot a hog that size is a once in a lifetime thing ( if that ), and a major feat. When I do take a nice animal, I like to show it off to my friends and anyone else who wants to see it. As far as being too big to have the head mounted, BULL! Ever been to the Fred Bear museum? They have a head mount of an Elephant! How many Cape Buffalo have you seen on walls? If you can kill it, it can be mounted. And as far as burying the whole thing, even if I THOUGHT I couldn't get it mounted, I would save the skull for show, And I don't know anybody who would not keep the tusks.
To me it looks like a hog, Sounds like bull, but it Smell a little fishy.

Double Click

GB, what does "double click" do as far as your computor is concerned? My son in law pulled it up on his and showed it to me- thought I'd inform him. Is Spybot the only system that protects from it?  Pat
By the way, did you get my PM? I'd like to know what you thought of the idea.

I honestly don't know what that particular spyware program does. But in general spyware programs do one or more of several things to your computer. They may send data to the person who put it on. Can send every key stroke to include your credit card numbers if you shop online. They may take over control of your computer and allow the person placing them there to access and use your computer as if it was theirs. They can cause pop up ads to show up on your computer. These are some of the more common things spyware does but not all by any means.

No there are other programs than Spybot but it is free and works and doesn't draw any data from your computer. Some that claim to be a method of prevention are in fact spyware themselves. This one isn't

No I don't recall getting a PM from you lately. I'll check again but don't think I've gotten one lately. I have only one not answered at this time and it is about my opinion of a post on another forum but not from you.
