Marlin 22 auto safety 22 rifle
« on: August 24, 2004, 08:24:10 AM »
Does anybody know anything about this gun? I can't seem to find any information about it. There are some things about the gun that seem to make it unique. Whenever the bolt is raised the gun goes automatically to safety. There seems to be no cartridge ejector on the bolt, the bolt comes right out of the rifle with the cartridge still attached, no need to pull the trigger to release the bolt.

Hello and welcome to Graybeard! I might have found your rifle. The rifle is a Marlin Model 25 Bolt Action. The web page I found didn't list anymore information about the gun than the author's own experience with the gun. To check to see if I'm right about your rifle, the page is http://www.stevenfenner.com/Bang/Marlin_Glenfield.htm

Thank you for the reply, but looking at the picture of the gun it looks like it has a clip, the auto safety is a single shot. Hope Marlin can shed some light on this gun I have posted on at least 4 sites and have only had one response from a gentleman that said they had one about 40 years ago and it was destroyed in a truck fire, couldn't give me anymore info about it.

Hmm...looks like I'm gonna have to dig a little deeper. Sounds like a quest to me

It has to be an old gun, and probably not very popular according to the response that I'm getting, most everybody in the earlier years had a 22 of some sort or another.
