i found that a marlin 336 scope base can be used on dan wesson shrouds. works best on 8' and longer but could be trimmed to fit shorter shrouds. i took my shroud to a gun smith and had it drilled and tapped to work with the base. i used the 336 base because thats what i could find, but any flat base should work

Good idea.  I thought about it myself but went ahead and got one made for the shroud.  It's at the gunsmith now.  Good luck.....Van

Got it back from the gunsmith.  Dang, $60 seems a bit high to drill & tap 3 holes.  Oh well, he did a nice job and the red dot fit nicely.  I know, it's cheap but I'll see how it holds up on the .357  ....Van

I've since moved the sight back to the rearmost position.  Seems easier to locate the taget  :P  :P ....Van
