Pentax K1000 Lens help
« on: August 29, 2004, 04:47:33 AM »
I got a Pentax K1000 for my Jr. High graduation back in the early 90's.  I bought a 35-85mm lens on it.  I hadnt really used it all that much, for some reason, till now.  Ive started hunting and hiking and, although I have my mothers digital camera I borrow, I have been taking along the old Pentax.  But Id like to get a second lens, a zoom, for more distance photography.  The lens I have now is just fine for panoramic pics from the tops of mountains, but trying to take pics of animals 30 yards away is turning out to be fruitless.  So can anyone point me in the direction of what lenses are available and what they might cost me?  I vsited the Pentax website, but not much info there as they are on to the newer and better cameras.  I also scanned the BestBuy website, but dont really know what to look for as it seems many lenses are for auto focus cameras now.
Thanks in advance.
