Tom Selleck is a fan of the 1886 Winchester. He owns and hunts with these fine guns, as do many other folks. Original '86 SRCs in any caliber other than 40-82, 45-70 and 45-90 are very scarce. A decent carbine in any condition, no matter what the caliber, will set you back several thousand bucks. A 50-110 in excellent condition can be priced upwards of 20K+. I was not aware of the restoration of these guns for the Monte Walsh film, either. I did watch it the other evening, though. It was pretty much the same story as the original Lee Marvin, Jack Palance movie of the same title.
