I was wondering what kind of velocity and energy your getting.
Remington list these specs for the 44 Mag. Using a 240gr. SJHP (R44MG3) in both a pistol and rifle.

Hornady has these specs listed for both the 480 Ruger and 475 Linebaugh in pistol only.
480 Ruger using a 325gr. XTP bullet.

Going from a 4 inch pistol barrel to a 20 inch rifle barrel you get 150% more velocity and 220% more energy with a 44 Mag. at the muzzle. Now the 480 and 475 are both using 7 inch barrels to get these specs and the Marlin 1895RL has a 18 1/2 inch barrel, what kind of increases can one expect when using this ammo in the Marlin. I don't think it will be as much of a gain as the 44 Mag. got, but it still should be quite a bit don't you think?
I like the 480 Ruger even better now that Ruger has came out with their new "Super-Redhawk Alaskan" in 480 Ruger and 454 Casull/45 Colt. It has a 2 1/2 inch barrel and should make a great companion for a Marlin 1895RL! :-D
