Guys,
That rifle is nicknamed "the Can Opener" in .22 caliber!
Actually they are pretty good!
The .177 is able to produce mid to high 700fps after a good clean-up, lube, and break in.
Look em up on the Fun Supply Chinese forum and on Eddies Airgun Forum. You'll change your minds!
The sturdilly built underlevers share a lot of common parts with other Chinese side lever rifles.
Also go to the South Summit site, look up a rifle called the KL-3B Fast Deer, $25.00 also.
Get ready for an introduction to the world of Asian guns...
Some are pure crap, some are true deals!

Easy to use and accurate, you would not beleive how sturdy they are made. They come here once a year and have a big sale, this is one of the front page items in their advertisement. The rear sight is attached to a full length dove-tail, you can remove the sight with 1 screw and attach a standard pellet gun or 22 scope. You cock the lever one time, so it dosent knock the scope all out of whack from pumping like my Benjamin air rifle does, however my Benjamin is stonger with 10 pumps. If I were you, I wouldnt put it down till you try it, and for a measly 20 bucks, you ought to go ahead and order one. Trust me.

..... of these as project guns. They are well made, solid air rifles. They are moderately powerful for close range pest control, and pretty accurate out of the box. They need to be cleaned and given the slick 50 treatment, and if you care about looks, you will need to strip off the dipped in baby mud finish common to most Chinese guns and refinish the stock. The trigger is a bit heavy, but if you polish it up it becomes reasonable. If this was going to be my only rifle - I'd get something else. But as an addition to your collection, a project gun, or a moderate powered hunter, it's not a bad choice.

hi everyone im new here but had to chime in on the 19.99 cummins special, i bought one and it wont do much more than dent a soda can at 15 feet !!!!! maybe it is a good air rifle? i dont know, what is a slick 50 treatment and how do you break them in? maybe it just needs something i aint giving it?

I bought one for $19.95 at a gun show several years ago. Handed over a twenty and the guy gave me a nickel right back! Mine will definitely puncture cans and I'm sure it would kill mice or sparrows but there isn't enough sight elevation to get it on target and the accuracy wasn't so hot anyway. As one might imagine, it's fairly crude! Mine looks like the end of the stock was slathered with half-hardened varnish and then pressed against something to mold in serrations for a sort of buttplate!

I too bought one out of curiousity. I haven't torn it down or anything, just shoot it for enjoyment, mostly. Chronograph showed the following -

That is 3 ft from muzzle, 10 shot string. I tested others, but this little bit shows "the truth" with flawed Chinese Air Rifle velocity advertizing.

Not all Chinese air rifles advertisement are false. The Tech Force 99M I bought is rated at 900 fps. in .22 caliber. Mine started out giving an honest, over my chronograph 913 fps. using the cheap, domed Chinese pellets that came with it. I am more than pleased with its performance. Dead on accurate(C-T-C 0.13) and powerful with a two stage adjustable trigger that is sweet. Lawdog

I bought a couple. One to shoot, and another just because .17 barrels can't be had so cheap! With the open wood stove as a backstop, the pellets won't bounce like BB's either, so indoor shooting works. Even got the better half to participate! Can't say much for the power of the pistols though, only 200 fps, but easy to use, and fun.

i got mine =ugly but it shoots such good groups with iron sights i had to put a scope on it!!!!! very gritty cocking, rough trigger but @33' it groups better than my bx20 so i took the scope off the bx20 and am using it on the

for the money i am very happy it is almost as accurate as the R11 if it had a better trigger it would be awsome.... and the power is there it will shoot through both sides of a real "tin can" steel that is @ 33'... you realy have to scope it to see how good it is.

So what is the general consensus on this gun Cummings is selling? Is it like buying $20 worth of lottery tickets.... your chances of getting a winner is about 1 in 52,000,000?

I'm just looking for a backyard plinker and gun to teach gun safety & shooting skills to my 5 year old with. Will this do the trick until she is old enough for a real .22 firearm?

For that purpose, it's impossible to beat the Daisy lever actions. That's what I started with, and what my kids started with, and I still appreciate the pure fun of those guns. They're great because they are made for close range reactive targets, like soda cans, crackers, and aerial milk jugs shot in mid-air. You don't need finer accuracy for this purpose. The things are practically indesctructible, and only require a wiping after each use, and the occasional drop of oil. You load it before you go to the range, shoot it a few hundred times, and then go home without having to reload it during your session.

More adults should shoot them. They're great for training on aerial targets.

I learned using a Daisy Red Ryder that my Dad gave me at the age of 4. We started our kids on Daisy Red Ryder's around the same age. Our grandkids are learning on them too. Newer ones have a safety on them the kids have to learn to use just like on rimfire/centerfire rifles. A target range can be set up in a hall way or garage. Any place where you have 20 or so feet. Accuracy of these newer Daisy B B guns are surprisingly good. As the kids age and skill advance we introduced them to the fun of back yard safari's. All our kids love the great outdoors and what it has to offer and our grandkids are showing the same love. Start your children with a Daisy and you'll never have to look for a hunting partner later in life. Lawdog

I forgot to mention that eye protection is mandatory when using the Daisys because BBs bounce better than rubber, and they have a tendency to bounce back at you if they hit something hard. This is very important.
