Watch out for those non-residents!!!
« on: September 07, 2004, 05:44:19 PM »
Well I had eight personal days to use and what a better way to use them than comming back to NY for deer season with my son.

I already have my archery, 2 game management tags and my gun season tags.  Cough, cough for $230

Were going to hunt the last week of archery and the opening of gun season.  The old stomping grounds again! :D

$84 for me, I also get the trapping license.

Where are your "old stomping grounds" that you are going to be??
A bad day of hunting is better than a good day at the golf course.

Stomping around

I used to live in Theresa and hunted around Watertown to Canton and Adams.

Originally from Jamesville( Syracuse) I have hunted all around there too. The souther tier around Cohocton and Rochester.

My son is in Baldwinsville so my DMP's  are for around there and Skanetless. (never could spell that)

I just wish I could bring a Conternder back with me. DEC says no, a federal violation even though I have a concelled carry for Jeffeson County. I think their wrong as I am flying in and not really crossing any state lines.  Guys bring handguns to AK for bear protection!!

Dave if you have a concealed for jefferson county is the contender registered on it? If so mail it dealer to  dealer and pick it up when you get here. Nothing they can do about that. Then mail it back dealer to dealer when you leave.

I will be hunting the Canton area that time I have thew week of 10/11 off to play with the muzzleloader and have a nice spot over there. If i had a contender I would gladly let you register in on your permit and use it while you were here.

Smart move leaving the Contender home in AK. Awful lot of grey area on if you can legally carry it in NY. If someone here in NY were to give you trouble over it the problem wouldn't be who is wrong and who is right. The problem would be do I have enough time and money to fight this battle. Sad how law abiding citizens are not innocent until proven guilty when it comes to issues like these. >John
