I am building a 97 from parts,I have all the parts except a few, which are on the way,I am puzzled on the ejector,in the nra parts exploded view,it shows an ejector spring,I can see where that goes, but there is a t shaped part called a ejector pin, where does that go?also on the take down,it says to turn the mag. tube and pull it forward about 2 in.what about the action slide, does it just comes out,or does it have to be disengaged some how ? these 97s are a bear to put together.thanks ahead of time :toast:
if it ain''''t broke,you ain''''t trying hard enough :D

Post this in the Gunsmithing forum, you'll probably get more takers there.

EdSmith,
The "ejector" on a '97 is a L shaped flat spring that is screwed on from the outside of the reciever.  Maybe you're thinking of the "extractor".  That is similar to most guns, with a hook, spring, and pin to pivot within the bolt.
Upon turning the magazine out, the action bar will come with it.
