50 cal muzzelloader or 44 mag rifel for elk

I would like take an elk with my muzzslloader or my 44 mag rifle .What would you choose .and what range should i stay in.  :roll:

With your .50 ml I'd recommend a conical with a wide flat meplat weighing about 350 to 400 grains.  For the .44 I'd go with a 300 grain LBT design.  I'd stay at bout 100 yard max for both and personally would do the ML gun but that's just personal preference.

:D I have both of these too. I would choose the 50 calibur ML but thats my choice. I might use the 44 if I wanted to shoot one with the handgun. I really like my muzzleloader. I'd limit my range to around a 100 yds for either and use a heavy bullet.
