First impression of the Bandito rig is it is high quality and good fit.  Craftsmanship is apparent and I think I'm gonna like the way it hangs while in the field.

The people in Minneapolis that sell them are extremely helpful and the two calls I made were worth the effort to tweak the order.  Ended up with the scope/no scope model for a 12 inch barrel.

Going out with it Saturday and will report how it carries in the field.

I'm really happy with the bandito belt I just got as well.  I didn't get one of their holsters yet, but was liking the looks of the "convertible" you got.  For now I'm using a "Hunter brand" scoped holster with the belt.....  Both great products.

Great carry rig.. I have one for T/C and another like yours for a scoped S&W Revolver. The only thing I don't like is that almost any leather combo squeaks when you move.. To defeat that I remove the rig and bungee cord it to the tree as soon as I get on a deer stand. Those folks that make them will custom fit your handgun. They are great to work with. Nothing but praise from me for sure. cbagman

My holster for the Contender squeaked when I walked. I put some saddlesoap on mine where the holster rubs on the belt and it eliminated the problem .  :-)  I have the Bandito Holster for the 14" barrels with scopes.

From the picture I don't see a way to secure the gun in the holster.  Can you get a holster with a flap or hammer strap to secure the gun?  I love the design, but have reservations on the squeak in the woods thingy.  I like to move and stalk and can't use the squeaking noise.

I have a Uncle Mike's and may stay with them if the squeak thing is an issue.

How did that field test go Mike???  Did the squeak become to much or did the heat of the day make it not a question?

It is a great looking holster though.

Lawful Larry,

I'm liking the way it hangs and feels.  Have yet to wear it a full day in the woods but I know I'll be happy.

Mine squeaks just a bit but less and less each time I wear it.  I too will put some saddle soap on it in the one location and I know the squeak will go away.

To your question, there is a snap strap that comes over the back of the trigger guard that keeps it in.  Mine is 12 inches in the holster so I can't see it coming out but the strap ensures that it cannot.

I still am very happy with my purchase.  BTW, if you ever wanted to, you could snap the holster only over your regular belt.  Looks like it would work without problems.

Thanks Mike, I was interested in the noise it might make in the field.  I think you are right about it breaking in and getting more quiet with wear.  I think I will get a rig for my Ruger SBH.

Sorry, can't let a time go by without showing off baby.

Saddle soap solved the squeak at no charge.  Just put it where the holster and the belt meet.

A1 product.
