Factory Loads for a 35 Rem available?
« on: August 25, 2004, 10:24:43 AM »
Well as my last post explains I got a 336 in 35 Rem. The only drawback so far is the lack of factory ammo options. I really want something like a Partition bullet or a solid and so far softpoints are all I can find. I did see that Buff bullets has a 220 solid but the box is over $40! That's a lot to spend, so any suggestions from the forum on options available? I don't handload but if that what it takes them maybe I can talk one of my buddies who does to load some for me if I get the accessories and components.

Thanks!

at $40 a box it wouldn't take too long to cover the cost of a basic reloading set up with press dies a scale and powder measure plus a good loading manual.  Might as well jump in a get your feet wet it isn't that hard to do

Hey guys,

Just found that I can get a Nosler Partition bullet for 35 cal that weights in at 250 gr. Any body use this one in a tube loader, or is this one of those pointy ones?

Thanks

Hi Guy`s

I would have to say that you need to start reloading. The 35 Remington is one round you need to reload for to get the Max out off.not that the 200gr remington factory load can`t put them down which it doe`s realy well.

In a marlin the action is safe for 42k psi the 35 runs at 32.psi.What myself and alot of other reloaders do with the 35 Rem is load the 200gr bullet to 2200fps as compared to the 2000fps the factory corlock will do.

Heres a post from another board that can help you out as it has helped me out alot.If your looking for a good bullet look at the 180gr speer.I have duplicated many loads on the list and have found them to be right on the money. But as with all reloads whats safe in my gun might be well over the safe limit in yours start low and work your way up.I have found the 200gr corlock at 2200fps is realy hard to beat on whitetail deer and black bear.Give reloading a try you won`t be sorry.

Just looked at your other post and saw your going after hogs with this new gun.Don`t think that the factory foder is weak or not up to the task. Many big hogs have fallen to the 200gr factory stuff. You will be well armed going into the woods with that Federal load.
