Whistleling bowling balls
« on: August 18, 2004, 07:21:46 AM »
Help, Has anybody experimented with home made whistles tied to the ropes of bowling balls (or other mortar round)? The finger holes whistles at long ranges. I like the sound. At shot range (150 yards), I loose the sound. I would like to try making a whistle attached to a rope on the ball. Any ideas?

Designing one wouldn't be tough - use a vacuum cleaner in 'blow' mode to provide the airflow for testing.

The rope might be a game though.  I would want it below the ball when loading it - giving no chance for anything to wedge in the bore.

Used to see some of the whistles that were attached to the several hundered pound bombs on the surplus market.
