Steve,

Cowboy lever is 50, 100, 150 & 200.
SB & Pistol Cartridge is same as Hunter's Pistol: 40, 50, 75 & 100.

Thanks Ernie, I figured you would see this and reply. Is that meters or yards for the long range?

Steve,

According to the book, either one is acceptable.

(I don't have a copy of the handbook and don't know whether it shows  targets scaled for yards or if you're just supposed to make a percentage size adustment.)

I think the game's pretty neat and should make a great 'draw'. Are you guys going to set it up at PeEll?

Normaly meters, but if your range can only accomodate yards fine. Same size targets, no adjustments. By the way Nomad, thanks for the info in an earlier post regarding CLA nationals. I was curious as to what Mr. Troyers winnig scores were.

AMB,
Thx -- I've never shot on a range set up in yards and thought that the targets were supposed to be sized accordingly. (I'm surprised. That effectively provides an almost 10% 'advantage'. Can records be established on a 'short' range with full-size targets?)
I don't have Ron's scores. Eric Poole will write that article. All I did was take some photos and work as line officer. Between that and ferrying the target setters back and forth at the longer range, I didn't pay all that much attention to specific scores, just to the overall match development.

Ray,
We combine cowboy smallbore and pistol cartridge with our hunter pistol match on the 1st Saturday. (SB in the morning.) Also, you can use any cowboy lever smallbore in our monthly smallbore fun match on the 4th Saturday. We don't have the full-size targets for the long range event and at this time we don't have any plans that I know of to reset the range for them anyway. I doubt that that will change.
Ft Wolters has targets and could readily set up berms for cowboy but I'm not sure I can see that happening unless there's an interested 'push' at TSRA level.
Zander was talking at Raton about a full-distance cowboy course. (200, 300, 385 & 500.) He was only partly serious but I think it might be fun and just might take an iron sight lever to the next Ft Wolters match and see if anything falls!
