BOOYAH! NRAJOE has a SAR-1 again!!!!
« on: August 15, 2004, 08:29:13 AM »
Went back to the gunshow to buy a $200 Chi-com Tokarev...some guy beat me to it by 30 seconds! Man I was mad! Started looking at the same guys gunrack and noticed a SAR-1 that wasn't there yesterday (there was a crappy MAADI in that spot) 2003 model...everything straight...hardwood stockwith a dark Russian look to it. Tagged at $350....went up to him, asked if he'd take $350 out the door...he said no, I shrugged my shoulders and turned to leave...he said hang on now, don't be so hasty....told him thats all I could go....he said YES! Too freaking cool! It has the usual scuffs here and there that most Romanians do...Cold blue will take care of that! Came with black sling...10 rd mag and a 40 round mag. Get a Blackjack buffer and I'm all set...I'm sooooo happy.

I traded my SAR-1 towards a VEPR K about 6 months ago and have been bummed ever since!

I now have a SAR-1 again...a SLR101S with the green furnature...and a VEPR K with the new "tactical stock!"

This has a smaller barrel tip than my last SAR-1 though...I don't know if it will be able to take a threaded brake when AWB expires but oh well.

I talked a guy down to $200 for a beauty of a Russian SKS...all matching except for the buttplate, but then I found the SAR-1...I know I'll be sorry for passing THAT up later...just like when I found a 100% Chi-com SKS for $200 that I passed on 2 gunshows ago!

Hey you did good..  just dont part with this one...

I wouldnt worry with the SKS there are still hundreds of them out there that are spotless with matching numbers, you can always pick up one
not so with a clean Sar-1  ...The guy who sold it still made close to 100.00
on the deal.. Always tell what you will pay if he wont accept it walk away.

I was very lucky and in the right place at the right time too. I walked into my local dealer and he had a Chinese Torakev 9mm,  a Polish Tokarev 7.62x25, a Russian Tokarev in 7.62x25 and a Czech CZ52 so my military surplus handgun collection took off in a one stop shopping trip.  Some of these aren't so easy to find now and if we do find them there not as cheap as they were too.                        BigBill

My dealer showed me them all and said which one do i want and i said i'd take them all.

now i may be wrong but i think that american citizens can buy firearms in canada provided there is no restriction regarding type or manufacture, I.E Norinco. i'm sure Double D will know better than i.

that being said www.marstar.ca carry's unissued Yugo M59/66's for $329 CDN. if you are not particular about what country your SKS comes from. they also had yugo tokarev's but they sold out very fast. they have the Chinese model in both 7.62X25 TT and 9MM, but i think they are made by norinco, but not sure. all unissued. too bad about the norinco ban. the local shop carries brand new norinco standard models for $159 and D models for $199,by this time next week i'll have myself a SKS-D.

hope this can help. :D
