Sweetwater Creek Bow Hunting
« on: August 21, 2004, 03:07:51 PM »
Sweetwater Creek Bow Hunting http://www.sweetwatercreekbowhunt.com/ - Anyone hunted here? Looking to do an exotics hunt in the spring. Don't have unlimited funds, so cost is important; not as concerned about animal (trophy) size as I am animal quality and fair chase.

Check out www.texasbowhunter.com for more info on this ranch in the Rate the Day Lease section.  I recommend the BAR E Ranch in Hondo, TX. Their web address is www.bareranches.com.

I've corrected the web address for the BAR E Ranch. It will work now.

I had found Bar E; it looks like a great place to hunt. I think we are going to try Sweetwater Creek next spring since it is only about an hour from the house. Maybe I can work in a hunt at Bar E next summer/fall. Prices seem right for out price range on both. Let us know how Bowhunter's Paradise turns out; they have reasonable prices as well.

for those of you that have not tried this Bowhunting only Ranch you are missing a very excellent fun time.  I have 2 more hunts booked with them-March & Oct. & if they were closer I would go more often.  I am bowhunting several places again in the making of my 2nd Exotic/Hog Bowhunting video.  I am headed for Shiloh Ranch in Oklahoma the 29th for Hogs.  This is another excellent place for Hogs & Rams.  With some of the Deer seasons winding down-these places are an excellent way to expand you Bowhunting at a very reasonable price.  I have only filled 1 (bonus) antlerless Whitetail tag at home.  I have 1 antlerless (bonus) tag & 1 Buck tag left.  I have passed on several smaller Bucks within easy bow range & also several Does that had this years fawns with.
Good luck to all the rest of 2004 & 2005 too.
always thankful

Back from Shiloh (Oklahoma) & I took a nice est. 145# hog the end of the 1st day after 2 misses & my son-in-law took his 1st ever Bowkill (Black hog) on the last morning of our Bowhunt-he also had 2 misses b/4 scoring.  It was a great fun time & this place is awesome for Daytime hogs over feeders.  We saw an average of 30 hogs per sitting & every size you can imagine.  Now to finish out the late Bow season & try to tag one of those good Bucks that elueded the shotgunners.  Then Sweetwater in March.

Never made it; other priorities took over (new 40x60 shop with an acre of brush to vlean up - as you can tell, I haven't been in this forum for a while). The beauty of it though is they are right down the road and there is always next year!
