Sights for Encore 50 cal
« on: August 22, 2004, 02:47:15 PM »
Does anyone know of a good set of sights for the Encore that would work for fine shooting? My shots on Deer are usually in the 100 yard plus range. Prairie Hunting. All of the sights I have seen cover the whole animal at that range. Thanks to anyone who can help me out. Scopes are not allowed for deer hunting during the Black Powder season.
shot placement is everything.

There is a new carbine sized 209 x 50 barrel out this year for the encore.  It comes with a peep sight.  I'm guessing it is a Williams peep.  Check out the T/C website, perhaps you can buy just the peep.

Thanks. I will check that out. I need finer sights than the fiber optic ones I have seen so far. I wish we could use optical sights. Primitive it fine for younger eyes but as you age and when you need bi-focals then open sights are a poor joke. Peep sights are much better than straight iron sights but no scopes discriminates against older hunters and makes quick humane kills much more difficult. The only option? Give up hunting with black powder? Forget it. Thanks again and good hunting.
