youth stock for model 70
« on: August 23, 2004, 10:13:09 AM »
I have a Winchester Model 70 Classic stainless that I would like my wife to use, but the stock is too long.  Does anyone know where I can find a youth stock for this gun?  I prefer synthetic.
Thanks

Brownells has quite a sellection of synthetic stocks but I don't know if anyone makes a stock already shortened for youths.  It would be fairly simple to just buy a stock you'd like and have it cut down..and a nice soft pad added..

Brownells has a youth stock for a model 70 sporter.  Will this fit a classic 70?

I haven't seen the listing.  The clasic is just the non-rotating extractor but there were other changes made also..  The easiest way is to call the Brownells tech line.  They will answer your questions about any product they sell.  I've been continuously amazed at the info these folks have available.  I bought a M75 Sporter a few years ago that had been drilled for some tyoe of side mount.  Weaaver markets one of the very few side mounts made and I needed to know the hole spacing.  I certainly didn't want any more holes in that lovely little receiver..  A call to Brownells techline and they had the answer...  (I lucked out it fit great).. Call them at 1-800-741-0015 and tell them Gray Beard Outdoors and the gunnut69 sent you!!
