Hammer switch?

I saw on an old post that someone said the hammer from an SB1 Pardner fits and functions perfectly on an SB2 frame, but it has a lower profile and allows you to mount the scope lower.  Is this true?  I've tried to compare the pictures in the catalog, but they look the same to me.

How old? I'm pretty sure it will only work if the donor gun has a transfer bar.

Why bother?  I took about 1/8 inch off mine with a dremel tool, down to the point even with the top of  the hammer extension.  Three of my barrels have scopes on low mounts and they all clear, it doesn't have to be by much at all as long as nothing moves, in which case you have other, bigger, problems.  Also look at how you are sighting the rifle.  If you have to lean your head forward or "crawl" the stock your scope is too far forward and the enlarged portion of the rear of the scope may be within the arch of the hammer. Try moving the scope to the rear to clear the hammer and give you a more natural shooting position.

The one I had in mind I bought new in the early 70's so it doesn't have the transfer bar, all the rest I have are recent and have the same hammer and bar. 8)
