CHEERLEADERS!!!!!
« on: January 19, 2003, 08:44:32 PM »
Ok now that you're here, I'm getting back into preditor hunting after a period of too much work and no (ok little) play. I found a Win 94, 22 mag that I think I can't live without. Questions are, is it worth $300?, It's as new the guy says "not a scratch and under 50 rounds though it". Probly a little premature, I don't know the exact model yet but I'm under the impression it's about ten years old or less.  What do these win 94 rifles have for triggers and groups, in 22 mag? THANKS ,,, Kurt

Kurt-

I won't be able to help with the Winchester 9422 Magnum but I just wanted to ask if you have considered the new Henry Repeating Arms lever action in .22 Magnum.

If memory serves right, you can get one of these Henry .22 Mags brand new for about the same price.

Just my  :money: .

I done some scouting today and found a new Win 94 22 mag for $300. So unless the thing is some sort of fancy grade that I don't know (or care) about the guy is a little off. He claims to have given over $400 for it. On the Win website they are about that, full retail tho and I find that to be way high form the average reasonable gunshop price. I found a clean looking 882 ss composite Marlin 22M w/Tasco scope for $275 but need some research on it. I would hate like heck to buy something and find out I could have got a new one for what I paid for used. THe Henry looked quite cheesy to me compared to the 94.

Mine will shoot around .75 @ 100 yds.   When purchased about 6 years ago I paid around $300 in like new condition. Market in my area was about $80 more for new ones. Price depends on checkered or plain stocks? Mine is checkered. I have a simmons 22 mag compact on mine and have managed a fair share of prarie dogs out to 200 yds.
Just another worthless opinion!!

I picked up a 9422M last summer for, I think, $250.  Good wood with cut checkering, really smooth action, etc.  Put a 22Mag on it, too.  I sighted it in @ 1" hi at 50 yards.  Suprised a gobbler (and me) with a neck shot last season.  Nice piece of equipment, IMHO.
