Winchester 75 Sporter
« on: August 23, 2004, 03:49:25 AM »
:-D  Life shouldn't be this good to me Found a 1939 Winchester 75 S (Sporter) at local gun show, this weekend. She is not like new, but now she's mine. What a sweet rifle. Has peep sight, but previous owner kept front blade and hood still with gun. Blueing is excellent, stock has few minor marks (that will be hid with Tru-Oil). I had been eyeing auction sites on internet; after getting a 75T. Made up my mind that they were out of my price range and probably wouldn't find one any way. But, then there it was, after a bit of chatting..paid $325. Any 75 S stories out there?

$325... Did you buy it or rent it????  :)
I've never seen one that cheap...
Cheapest I've seen is around $600.
Now you'll have to do the "loose tooth" fix, and you'll be set.
Good Purchase!!!!!
Let us know how it shoots. Maybe we can rent it from you!!!!

:-D  Couldn't be happier. Took the "Sporter" out in the rain to the range. Now, I ain't bragging, But I have a Browning Belgium Auto, more than one CZ, and few other nice rimfires..But, this little Winchester 75 S is a real hoot !!! It was like an old dog, that was just waiting to hunt. She was right on the money with the first shot. I just didn't want to put it down. And I thought the 75T was real nice. I was usually taking at least two guns to the range, because I can't make up my mind...looks like four now; at least. Hope you enjoy your rimfires a least half as much as I do mine !!!! I could cover my groups with my thumb nail, 25 yds., (peep sights) Remington bulk ammo, 5-10 rd groups....The gun came with two Winchester 5 rd. clips... think I'm happy ???
