Rusty traps

Bought a bunch of traps 25 years ago, several still have the price sticker on them.  Tried it back then with little success, put the traps in a wooden box and forgot about them.  Found them last week while cleaning out the shed.  They are covered in rust.  Can this rust be removed, ifso how?

I use a steel bristled brush,to remove heavy rust.

Steel brush works here as well. If all you have is surface rust then i think it would be safe to dye, wax or dip the traps as is. Also, Make sure you check the traps from proper spring strenght and that all parts including the chain are in in good working order.
