Hornet Breech Plug Misfire?

I was out this last weekend having my second session with my 209x50 with the newly installed breech plug.  I was using 100gr of T7 with MMP sabots.  My hornet cases were primed with CCI LRP.  After about 25 shots I had a misfire.  I put in another "primer" (what do you call those little cut off hornet cases?) and it misfired again.  On the 4th try it fired and continued to fire without incedent for the rest of the day.  I know these primers are good as I used them for many other reloads with no misfires.  Anyone else have any trouble with misfires?

P.S. As an aside, the new breech plug improved my group size considerably - I am a big fan.

: :(  :(  :eek: I also had the same problems,,,, I have been shooting my Encore for 4 years now,and no misfires,using 209 primers... Last year i switch to  777, and the 25acp conversion...Last week at the range, i have 8 missfires???  After pulling the powder, it was damp????  Tried prodex select,and had no missfires.... I called Hodgen, explained the problem that i was having, and they gave me no answers that i was satified with...  I personally think, that the  777 is more prone to collect moisture that the other black powders substitutes...??? thus with the weak charge from the 22 or 25 conversions, is not sufficient to ignite the powder if it is a little damp.....Not what i want for hunting purposes???   Ok for the range, but i only have one shot in the field.... Just my personal thoughts,,,Bruce...

Relative to what you call the adaptors that hold the rifle primers. Either the Hornet or .25ACP brass could be called a Primer Support Brass or a PSB. Let's see what anybody else can come up with.

I was out at the range again this last Sunday (very hot!).  After about 25 shots I had a single misfire.  A second brass primer ignited the charge.  I pulled the breech plug and noticed a fair bit of fouling in the cupped indendtation.  I cleaned this out and shot another 20 rounds with no trouble.  I am beginning to thing it is just going to be a matter of keeping the breech plug clean.
