MIDSOUTH CLASSIC, Arkansas State SB match Sept. 18th & 1
« on: August 16, 2004, 10:28:22 AM »
I would like to once again invite and remind everyone about the Midsouth Classic coming up in ~ 30 days.

We will be opening our new range exclusively for this match. I will try and post pictures of the new range, if I remember correctly it’s approximately 150 feet of covered concrete firing line, ~16 feet deep. There are 6 banks of each animal with Chickens, Pigs Turkeys and Rams running in order from right to left. Target stands are vertical posts with 2 banks of 5 on top of one another, with a “pad” for each target.

Please visit http://home.comcast.net/~fbray11/ for registration information. Frank Bray’s contact information is:

Frank Bray, Match Director
4311 Hanover Drive, Bryant, AR 72022
(501) 653-0630 or (501) 569-2531
E-mail: fbray11@comcast.net

The entry fee is $75 for the first gun and $25 for the second gun, which includes meals, target setters, and door prizes (one of witch is a Briley hunter silhouette rifle).

There will be a 4-man team shoot on Friday night (9/17/04) before the evening meal. Meals include Friday evening, Saturday Lunch, Saturday evening and Sunday Lunch.

(2) 40 shot Standard Rifle matches will be held on Saturday the 18th, awards for aggregate and individual matches to follow.

(2) 40 shot Hunter Rifle matches will be held on Sunday the 19th, awards for aggregate and individual matches to follow.

Also this match is the conclusion of the “Southern Trifectia” and the Winsted vests will be awarded for high aggerate for the three matches in B, A, AA, AAA and Master class following match 2 on Sunday.

Good time promised to all (heck I can promise you anything…LOL), good food and some good competition. The Friday morning practice will mark the first shots fired on our new range and all are excited to see the culmination of their hard work.

Please contact Frank if you have ANY questions.

THere a number of people asking if you are bringing some 1712's, if you have them I would bring them...LOL.

Here are some pictures of the range, check out the view from the Rams (Range05.jpg)

The pics are not the best as it was a little later than I thought, but the proff is in the pudding.

Hey George, thought you were going to plant some grass on that range?? Just kidding.  Looks like you guys have done a great job, even if it did cost Karl a finger.  Leastwise it wasn't his trigger finger.  We are all looking forward to coming to Benton and trying out that new range.  Like Tom Cruise said in the movie Top Gun "I heard the best of the best were going to be here"....Duckgumbo, how about some really great prices on those Anschutzs' to, you know, celebrate the opening of the new range??

That will be a great deal on the 1712

Put me down for at least two.  You are about right concerning the native grass.  You have kind of got a Rattan look going on with the "canyon" and "desert" look.  Grass is overrated anyway.  You know how our pigs and turkeys look like they are hiding in the grass.  Realistic hunting senario maybe???  Going to Tulsa Red Castle saturday.  Come go with us.

Would love to except I will be shoot at a truck load of moving silhouettes Saturday...Dove Season! They do give you the slight advantage of firing multiple projectiles at the same target...
