"Tasco world class" crapper blew apart on my encore. To be fair It was bought for a .22 and I would probably never think of putting it on the muzzleloader except for the lack of funds at the time. 100gr of t7 caused the eyepiece to chip and then break free all together. Since its over 3 yrs old, tasco won't even look at it. Burris or leupold, here I come.
Any suggestions on any deals going on or  any personal favorites for the muzzlestinker?? I will probably just go with 3-9 VX1 since I don't need the bells and whistles for the muzzleloader, but I am open to suggestions.

Any Bushnell from the Banner on up should hold up fine. I have never been able to hurt a tasco straight power scope. I have several here on high power rifles that are twenty and evev thirty years old. I have had a Simmons Pro Hunter straight 6 poer for years on my 30-06 never a single problem. I do stay away from the cheaper variable power scopes. My wife has had a 4X tascoe pronhorn on her 250 Savage for 6 ot 7 years and it still works great. I think the best scope out there for the money is the Simmons Aetec.

I have 3 2-7x VX1's and like them alot for the money.  One is on a 45-70 lever gun which I load on the warm side and it has never given me any problems.

You have the right idea, stick with Leupold and you won't be disappointed.  :D  I have swapped 90% of my scopes to Leupold, the other 10% is Burris and one Weaver. I also got a IOR Valdada. I do have a Bushnell Banner Shotgun/Muzzleloader scope on my Encore, and it has worked great for me. I will eventually change it to a Leupold.  :grin:

I own 5 Leupolds.  My Encore wears a VX-II 3x9x40.

There are some other good scopes out there, but I still prefer the Leupolds.  All of mine have the Leupold Dot reticle with the tapering cross hairs and the dot in the middle.  Just like the way it finds the right spot on the deer.

I really want to give burris the business, but more times than not it seems, if a problem occurs it's with the burris not the leupold. Anyone can make a bad scope but it seems I'm hearing burris attached to that statement a little more often than leupold. Obviously not very scientific but that's my perception. Thanks
