.45 cal Disc Knight ........ Help!

I have purchased a .45 cal disc and cannot get a good group. When using 777 I cannot get another bullet down the barrel with out cleaning it. When using pellets all is fine when reloading. I have tried Precision 185 gr , Power belts 225 areo tip, Horady 200 gr and t/c 185 and cannot get a group to please me  . I am shooting two 50 gr pellets . My old 50 cal knight will shoot one ragged hole. Should I try 3 pellets . What can I try next? :evil:

Use granular powder and work up a load. There was life before pellets. :wink:

Truckie - I wonder which model you have? I read a report on a web site somewhere that said the original Super Disc would not shoot 777 powder well. When he switched to the newer Disc Elite, everything was ok.

Why not try the bullet-powder combo that Knight recommends? I'm using Knight 175g Red Hots with 3 Pyrodex pellets and getting groups around 2" and mz velocity of 2425. This is with the older model rifle, but I've read that the newer model is more accurate. I'm sure if I went to loose powder and did a lot of experimenting I could find a better load, but I'm planning to hunt with this combo this season.

You might want to check the profile of the front face of your breechplug. I have an Omega which reacts vastly differently based on which breechplug I use. T/C has supplied one with a totally flat front face, one which has a small concave face with a 1/8 thich ring around the depression and one that is completely concave without a flat surface. Also the standard shotgun primers might be too hot. If you  can find them try the remington .410 primers. I can't find any but they exist and are not so hot and have less energy. Shotgun primers will shoot a bullet 20-30 yards according to reports which may be pushing the charge and bullet up the barrel before proper combustion takes place. The concave front face breechplugs seem to work better with loose powder than the flat face one. I converted my Omega to the .25ACP breechplug and now can shoot three to four shots in a row without a swab between shots using 80gr. loose T7 and a 348gr. Powerbelt with the three shot group which is one shot from clean barrel two from fouled barrel all within a two inch circle at 100 yards. (And that was rushed due to rain coming in and heavy wind so groups will likely be better when I can take time measuring loads).
