IVe got a few questions about encore barrels. IVe been wanting to get an encore for a while now. I will either be getting a 257 roberts or a 25-06 barrel for it. MY question is that if I get the 06 barrel it will probably be the heavy factory barrel. What kind of accuracy can I expect from this factory barrel? But I really want the roberts, so I would have to order it from bullberry or virgin valley. BOth of these say they come with some sort of hanger thing to mount it to the forearm. If I got the roberts barrel would i have to get a forearm from one of them for it to fit, or could i use the one that came from the factory?

I've been wanting an Encore for several years, and finally picked one up about three weeks ago. I traded the ML barrel for a .308 barrel, and then picked up a 25-06 barrel here on this forum. All I can say is, Man, I've been missing some fun over the years. The '06 is fun to shoot. Went yesterday with some handloads and at 100 yards, 100 gr Sierra Gameking over IMR 4350, shot .75 group. Also loaded up some 115 gr partions and got bullseye groups without moving scope, just a bit lower and to the right, but still MOA group. Going to sight in the .308 barrel tomorrow, and thinking of getting a 22-250 barrel.

VIRGIN VALLEY IS BUILDING A BARREL FOR ME RIGHT NOW IN 25 WSSM. THEY TOLD ME TO SEND MY FACTORY CAMO FOREND TO THEM AND THEY CAN MODIFY IT TO FIT THE HANGER BAR. THE WAY I UNDERSTOOD STEVE, IT WILL ALSO FIT STANDARD BARRELS AS WELL.

Do you mind me asking, what are they charging for the 25 WSSM. I just picked a Browning ABolt 25 WSSM up a month or so ago, and sure love it, but would really like to have it in the Encore.
