To dukkillr, BPS jamming problem
« on: August 30, 2004, 05:30:29 PM »
About one month ago, when I posted a problem with my BPS releasing 2 shells from the magazine whenever you pump the action, you gave me advice to take it apart and put it together again "correctly".  Well, you were right!  I really could not see what was wrong from the character who did it before, but we pulled the trigger assembly out and put the little spring clips that retain the shells in tube in their proper place and got the pin back in, and all I know is, it works.  I do not think the retainer on the left side was moving in and out properly before, but am not sure.  Thanks for your help, my son-in-law and I really appreciate it.

Glad to help.  I love the BPS.  IMHO it's the best new shotgun on the market for waterfowl or utility use.  It's absolutely indispensable for lefties.  How long did it take you to get the trigger mechanism back in?

Not too long, maybe 10-15 minutes of frustrating non-success, then in a patient, calm moment, it just went correctly and very easily.  I can see that when it is aligned perfectly, and only perfectly, the pin slips in easily, but any forcing and it will never go.  My son-in-law was there too, and I don't remember, maybe we had an extra finger or two in the deal that made it easier.  Thanks again.
