Clerk Fooled by Bill With Bush's Picture

GREENSBURG, Pa. (Sept. 1) - State police aren't laughing about the person who allegedly passed some funny money - a $200 bill with President Bush's picture on it - at a women's clothing store.

Police on Wednesday charged Deborah Trautwine, 51, with theft by deception, for allegedly passing a bogus $200 bill at the Fashion Bug store in Hempfield Plaza on Aug. 22. There is no such denomination, even without Bush's picture on it.

Police said they didn't know how the clerk was taken in by the ruse, even though several other things about the bill should have been a dead giveaway.

Among other things, the bill had a hokey serial number - DUBYA4U2001 - and didn't bear the signature of the secretary of the treasury. Instead, the bill was "signed" by Ronald Reagan, whose title was "Political Mentor" and by Bush's father, who is listed as "Campaign Advisor and Mentor."

The back of the bill was even goofier.

It depicted the White House with several signs erected on the lawn, including those reading "We Like Broccoli" and "USA Deserves A Tax Cut."

Trautwine's mother said she wasn't immediately available for comment Wednesday and declined to provide her work telephone number.

Back in the early 80's Calif  Hi-way Patrol had some 55 dollar bills made up to stress the then 55 mph speed limit, they were about an inch longer and 1/2 wider than a regular bill. At the local coffie shop a lot of us hung out one of the guys said he would get the coffie that morning. He gave the waitress one of the 55 dollar bills. She rang up all the coffies and gave him his change. He came outside laughing and then called the owner out to explain what had happen, and gave him back his change. He paid the owner with real money. The waitress was fired, right after the owner got the guy his change.
Geez wish she had been working in a sporting goods store.  :grin:

A few years ago I asked a cashier if she could break a big bill, she said,  of course. After telling her I had just won the lottery and just cashed my ticket in I handed her a fake $ million bill. Her eyes got huge as she said, we don't have that much money in the store. POWDERMAN.

Powderman if you really want to have fun with those million dollar bills next time your in your favorite eating joint rap the waitresses tip in one.
I've done this at all the restaurants I eat at and the waitresses love it, and I get million dollar service when I go back to these places. I also give them to folks with their change at work. It puts a smile on their face and it doesn't hurt return business either. I call it Be Back Powder :-)
