just bought a encore .50 cal black powder and a .280 rem barrel.time to see what all the hoopla is about with these encores!!

I started out with a 209/50 also and just purchased a 220 Swift barrel for it. 26" heavy barrel, currently saving the pennies for a scope. Got all the reloading components and have started loading rounds for it. Once I get the money for the scope I should have 200 test rounds loaded for the range. Yodies better watch out this fall/winter.

You mentioned the 280 Rem barrel. Is it a 24 in standard? I think if I get...well the next barrel I get will either be that or a 270 Win. Let me know what you think about the 280.

24" ss barrel.got it yesterday.pulling a 3.5x10 leupold off a other rifle to put on it.got a old 1.75x5 bushnell on the 50 cal.will try and play tomorrow.don't know what my next caliber will be.17 rem.22-250,.223,25-06,257 roberts,30-06,.300 winny mag and 45-70 dies are all here.haven't hit a gun show for the .280's yet.
oliverstacy,where is you at in michigan? i was at wurtsmith afb in oscoda for 4 years.still go back to visit,and hammer some walleyes!!

my friend has a 280 in a pump an i love the round it shoots perfect so i was out a few weeks ago with the wife an seen a set of rcbs full size die set for 20$ so i picked them up, as she yells an such about you best put them to good use an not let them lay around like some of the others you have goting, so what do you guys think i personaly bleave i should go an order a barrel tomarrow, i mean like she said i dont want to one wast the dies haven them layen around an two i dont want to prove her right lol an so should i order a barrel to show her im not a lazy wastfull person lol

I am originally from Greenville, MI...just north of Grand Rapids. I now live in Livonia...just outside of Detroit. Wurtsmith, how's them MK-82's, 3's and 4's treat ya there? B-52's- Thats a lot of Bomb humping!!! I was a F-15C weapons guy in Langley AFB for my 4 years.

I've got just about all the pennies saved for the scope. Topping my 220 Swift barrel with a Burris 4.5-14x Bplex, AO. Can't wait. Like I said earlier the yodies and crow better watch where they sit this fall.
