97' shoots high - problem solved
« on: October 05, 2004, 07:09:01 AM »
Most 97's I've seen shoot high, especially the ones with cut barrels. I've now have a replacement front sight that fixes this problem. It is a ramped bead that is countured for the barrel and is much higher, thus bringing the point of aim lower. Just remove your existing front bead and screw on this ramped bead in the same hole. (mounting screw included) It looks great and works. Send me an email for more info or visit my website at www.magicspringsbyseven.net

I would like to see what the sight looks like installed. Great idea there, but most of the shoot high folks shoot 20" doubles. Would this be tailor-able to the flat of a SxS?

Seven a cowboy? Yup, you better believe it.

I asked about the new sight he has for the 97 shooters. I think I can flatten the base and install one on my SXS and cure having to hold at 6 O'clock. I tell him my address and I send him my $. Today I recieved the sight. Wait a minute. I can't believe it. I have to scratch my head, do some cyphering and make some smoke come from my ears. Yeah, you know what? He shipped that sight to me the same day I ordered it. What's this? Shipping under the honor system? I am only hoping he got my payment today, but it will probably be tomorrow. There was a weekend involved. That pards is cowboy and Seven is one of those fer sure.
BTW, it really looks like it will be no trouble to flatten the base on a file and install on my short SXS and then to try it. Neat idea, nice looking sight. I can see why it would work great on the 97s.
